IS A STATEROOM WITH A BALCONY REALLY WORTH IT?
Yes, definitely! The sights, shorelines of the historical cities and ports of the British Isles are inspiring and what better way to enjoy them than from the privacy of your own private balcony stateroom.
Private balconies are also a great way to escape the crowds. You can enjoy the same view from your own deck chair while having a cup of coffee - but without the crowds on the main decks. Balcony cabins are bigger as well since the balcony adds an additional dedicated seating area and the balcony sliding doors provide a floor to ceiling view of some of the best scenery in the world. If you're already spending the money and taking time to go to cruise then treat yourself to a balcony...you will not be disapointed and will be glad you did. So the answer is "YES." Especially on this cruise the balcony stateroom is worth the extra dollars as it also includes a complimentary beverage package for 2 people (inside cabins do not qualify for this promotion). Additionally, if you have 4 people sharing a balcony we suggest considering buying a balcony and additional inside cabin across the hall (if available) for only a few hundred dollars more so your entire party will have more room and space in addition to another bathroom.
FYI, due to the popularity and demand of balcony cabins, newer ships like the Celebrity Equinox are built with close to 70% or higher of cabins and suites with balconies.

HOW DO I CHECK IN ONLINE?
Begin by logging in to My Celebrity. The Online Check-In process for all guests in your reservation needs to be completed at least three days prior to your sail date.
Since government regulations require cruise lines to submit final departure manifests at least 60 minutes prior to sailing, this will save you time having to fill out forms at the pier. If you have not completed Online Check-in, you will be required to complete this process at the pier two hours prior to the published sailing time.
Once you have completed the Online Check-In process, you will receive an Xpress Pass. It indicates that you successfully completed the check-in process for yourself and those guests listed on your Xpress Pass.
Please note: Xpress Pass guests are required to be at the pier and checked-in no later than 90 minutes prior to the published sailing time or you may not be permitted to board.
IF FLYING, WHERE SHOULD I PLAN TO ARRIVE AND DEPART?
Your Cruise departs from the Dublin, Ireland cruise port so please fly ONE Way into Dublin Airport (DUB) which is located approximately 5.6 miles from the city center.
Direct non-stop flights from the USA are about 7-9 hours travel time and most arriving in the morning. We highly recommend arriving one or more days early in case of any last minute travel interuptions or delays to make sure you are in town the day your cruise departs. Arriving early will also ease your jet lag before boarding the ship and allow time to enjoy the beautiful sights and food of Rome.
All cruise passengers will need to be checked in and onboard 90 minutes prior to departure.
Your cruise disembarks in Amsterdam, Netherlands so please book your ONE Way return flight from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS) which is located about 20 minutes from the city center and is one of the largest airports in Europe. If you have time, we highly suggest spending day in Amsterdam as it is a very easy city to tour and has some world class museums, attractions and dining.
PACKING AND DRESS:
Ireland's weather is famous for being unpredicable and it is not called the Emerald Isle without reason so definitley suggest brining a rain jacket, waterproof shoes if plan on hiking and dressing in layers. Save some room in your packing so can buy an Irish woolen sweater as a souvenier and to wear during your trip. We also suggest packing in soft bags that are not too large and can fit under the bed onboard for additional space in your cabin.
Here is a fun video on paking for Ireland-Enjoy!
Weather in Ireland will be mild but cooler in the summer so plan accordingly When visiting churches and other religous sites it is suggested to wear long pants, closed shoes and for women to cover their shoulders. Don't forget your sun tan lotion and bathing suit and we do hope you take an opporunity for swim in the pools onboard and in the ocean. Typical June days average about 14 hours of daylight so plenty of time for touring and average temperatures are noted below:
|City||Daily High||Daily Low|
|Le Havre/Paris, France||66F||55F|
|Belfast, N. Ireland||63F||48F|
Here is a fun video on Irish Weather - Cheers!
Guests may begin boarding the ship 3 hours prior to the scheduled sailing time (please refer to your cruise tickets). It is the guest's responsibility to arrive on time. Failure to check in at least 90 minutes in advance will constitute a no-show; the booking will be canceled, and cancellations charges will be assessed.
Due to new government regulations requiring cruise lines to submit final departure manifests at least 60 minutes prior to sailing, guests are requested to complete Online Check-in no later than 3 days prior to their cruise. If guests have not completed Online Check-in, they will be required to complete this process at the pier two hours prior to the published sailing time.
Guests who have completed the on-line check in, are members of our Loyalty programs, are reserved in Suites or Concierge Class or who are Captain's Club Members may use priority embarkation lines at the pier terminal.
For security reasons, guests are not allowed to bring visitors on board ships in any ports.

How do I pay for items on board and at port?
Celebrity Cruise will open an onboard account for bar purchases, soft drinks, spa services, onboard shopping, to pay for shore excursions, etc, which you can settle by credit card, travelers checks or cash at the end of the cruise. The purser's office will also cash travelers checks for you. In addition, most of the duty-free shops onboard and most shops in port will also cash travelers checks. You will not be able to cash personal checks onboard the ship.
All countries we will be visiting on this itinerary, i.e. Spain, France, Italy and Greece are part of the European Union and thus the local currency is the Euro. Most shops in port will accept major credit cards as and Euros.
What about motion sickness?
Ships today are so well stabilized that most of the time you won't notice you are even moving! It's a good idea though to take along some Motion sickness precaution (follow the directions on the box) as well as a sea band, aspirin and sunscreen. If you do have a problem onboard, all ships have a doctor and a nurse onboard. And be sure not to forget any prescription drugs you are taking. These should be put in your carry-on luggage. Consult your physician before taking any medication.
